Alex DeLise

Hi there! My name is Alex and I am a senior at Florida State University pursuing two degrees in Applied and Computational Mathematics and Computational Science. I am passionate about advancing the mathematical foundations of generative AI and deep learning, and about applying these methods to inverse problems.

In Spring 2026 I will begin my honors thesis in generative compressed sensing under my advisor Nick Dexter in the Department of Scientific Computing. During Summer 2027, I will be a data science intern at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory.

In my previous summers, I have done two NSF Research Experience for Undergraduates. In Summer 2025, I was at Emory University for the Computational Mathematics for Data Science REU under the supervision of Matthias Chung. In Summer 2024, I was at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville for the Quantum Algorithms and Optimization REU under the supervision of James Ostrowski.
